Schaffnit Chiropractic & Rehabilitation

Dr. Blake Schaffnit, D.C., C.C.S.P.®

Blake Schaffnit Chiropractor

Dr. Schaffnit is happy to call Glen Ellyn home and has since 1996. He graduated high school from Glenbard South and studied Kinesiology at Illinois State University. Dr. Schaffnit did his post graduate studies at Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, MO. He was fortunate enough to work for the Chiropractor for the then (St. Louis) Rams and Blues where he saw firsthand the importance of injury rehabilitation. Dr. Schaffnit is a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician, through the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians (ACBSP). The focus of chiropractic sports specialists is to provide musculoskeletal care in a conservative manner, provide rehabilitation and performance optimization of the neuromusculoskeletal system for an athletic population and to participate in a multi-disciplinary sports injury care environment. His patient centered evidence-based approach makes him different from other health care providers.

Past experiences of Dr. Schaffnit include working in a clinic in Romeoville, IL that was located in front of a retirement community. Here the practice saw many patients over 55 years old. This gave him experience dealing with many injuries that have been chronically painful and non responsive to traditional approaches. Pain relief was a major focus of these patients, which was achieved through advanced physical medicine protocols.

Dr Schaffnit completed his training in acupuncture in 2019. He uses acupuncture and needling techniques as a tool to aid in the recovery process.

He specializes in acute and chronic injuries of the low back and neck, orthopedic injuries, rehabilitative exercises, soft tissue injuries, whiplash treatment, and setting wellness goals. This is done with proven techniques such as chiropractic manipulation, physical therapy, massage therapy, acupuncture, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, and Active Release Technique (a patented, state-of-the-art soft tissue system that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves).

Dr. Schaffnit believes that direct one on one patient contact is very critical in patient care. This is why he personally works with all his patients from initial exam, through the rehabilitation process, and finally to the completion of care:

"Individualize care is the cornerstone of my belief because no two problems are identical and thus no two treatment plans are the same."

Dr. Alley loves spending time with her husband Mike, who also grew up in Wheaton. She is a new mom to her daughter Brianna, who has brought the family so much joy.
